If we'd have won against it would have altered the course history and it may not necessarily have resulted in a draw against Millwall in the next round.

Remember this game mainly due to South London Old Bill holding us back for what seemed like hours on that decaying terrace. A similar outcome to the Leppings Lane at Hillsborough could easily have happened that day

As I watched the draw, I told the Missus that WHO would go into a meltdown. I was hoping that we'd get Man City.
Very pleased that Newport got them though. They deserve the cash after what they've been through.

I went the old den in 92/93 we lost 2-1
Funny day but had to keep your wits about you. Was only 15 so bit naive to it all definite eye opener. Great atmosphere. Proper old school football ground.

2009 was a great night, gorgeous hot day, loads of boozing and a game we won against our true rivals. Could have been done all over again, albeit freezing cold.
That said I just don’t think they could police the OS and surrounding areas so would have been behind closed doors or no away fans.

Last game at the Den, I was a lot younger then but it was lively, and we were rammed into our end
Would be telling a lie if I said I passed through the whole experience without an occasion or two where you could have cut a washer off by arsehole
But that was football, that was West Ham and that was my youth
All now consigned to history
